Hello, beautiful souls!
It’s been a while since I last shared what’s happening behind the scenes at NB Jewelry Boutique, so I thought it was time for a proper update from our little slice of Georgia homestead life.
This past year has been full of change, love, and a few goodbyes. We sadly said farewell to our handsome kitty fellow, Jack. He left us much too young, and we suspect heart issues were the culprit. He was such a sweet, spirited boy and is deeply missed.
On the chicken side, we also lost several of our original lovely flock ladies. Those girls brought so much joy and laughter over the years. We’re so grateful for the time we had with them. Thankfully, two of the OGs are still ruling the roost: Diane and Henretta (Henretta still runs the show like the queen she is!).
To keep the flock strong, we welcomed 11 beautiful new girls this year. They’re full of personality and energy, and they’re currently waiting on official names! I’d love your suggestions if you have any favorites—feel free to drop them in the comments or send me a message. We also ended up with a handsome rooster by happy accident. He’s a good-looking fellow and has learned to keep a healthy respect for Henretta (smart boy!).
The Pomeranians are all doing wonderfully. Louie has managed to stay out of the pound this year (a major win!), though he and Otto did treat us to one adventure when they decided to explore the neighbor’s subdivision. Boys will be boys!
We’ve also been playing Airbnb host to the sweetest turkey you’ll ever meet—Betty Sue. She belongs to a neighbor, but she’s been spending time with us and has become part of the family. Every day I pick her up fresh corn, and she rewards me with the gentlest, most affectionate turkey noises. Who knew turkeys could be such sweeties?
The garden is thriving after we moved it this year. It was a big project, but everything is growing beautifully so far. We’ll see if all that hard work pays off with an even better harvest—fingers crossed! Between the chickens, the dogs, Betty Sue, and the garden, life stays busy and full of little joys.
Through all the ups and downs, I keep creating jewelry that celebrates new beginnings, fresh starts, and the quiet strength it takes to keep showing up for the life and creatures you love. Every piece I make carries a little of this homestead heart with it.
Thank you for being part of our journey. Whether you’re shopping for a milestone piece, a “you did it” gift, or just something that makes you sparkle, I’m truly grateful you’re here.
With love and sparkle,
Jill
